Nortica 10 WP Biological Nematicide Fertilizer 14-0-21 - 35 Lb for the Protection of Plant Roots Against Plant Parasitic Nematodes on Turf, Residential and Commercial Lawns, Sod Farms, Sports Fields and Golf Courses (Greens, Tees, Fairways and Roughs).

Nortica, which contains the bacteria Bacillus firmus (strain I-1582), is used to help manage nematodes by creating a living barrier of protection around the roots.

Nortica 10 WP suppresses nematode populations through the activity of Bacillus firmus. With this biological protection, a vigorous root system is established by the plant.

Nortica 10 WP is suitable for application by spraying, drenching, or drip irrigation.

Applying during periods of root growth will cause a reduction in nematode
populations in the soil. Nortica 10 WP does not control other pests or pathogens. Control of other soil-borne pathogens by other means (such as soil fumigants) is highly recommended.

Active Ingredient: Bacillus firmus (strain I-1582) --10.0%
                           14-0-21 (N-P-K) Nitrogen (N) -- 14.0% (14% Ammoniacal Nitrogen), Soluble Potash (K2O) -- 21.0%

Rate: 17.5 - 50Lb / 65 - 130 gallons of water/ Acre

         (0.4 - 1.15 Lb.(6.4 - 18.4 oz.) / 2 - 3 gallons of water / 1,000sq.ft.)

35 lb per acre delivers 0.10 lb of Nitrogen per 1,000 square feet.

70 lb per acre delivers 0.25 lb of Nitrogen per 1,000 square feet.

This nortica 10 WP can cover half acre to one acre.

WHY 2 APPLICATIONS A YEAR?

Due to the preventative nature of this product, application timing is critical. Nortica should be applied initially in the late winter to early spring when root initiation is beginning in the turf and before nematode activity has peaked and then in the late summer to early fall to resupply the soil with Bacillus firmus.

SPRING APPLICATIONS (Late Winter/Early Spring)
• Protect new root growth into the summer.
• Create a living barrier around the turf root system protecting it throughout the growing season.
• Protect the roots from nematodes in all stages of their life cycle (Adult, J2 Larvae, Eggs).
• Spring greenup will be improved and the turf will be in better shape to live in the presence of damaging nematodes.
FALL APPLICATIONS (Late Summer/Early Fall)
• Protect newly forming roots, help reduce levels of nematodes and send turf into winter in improved shape.
• Resupply the soil with fresh Bacillus Firmus spores.
• Bermudagrass develops roots during this time when nematode numbers tend to also increase.
• Overseeding bermudagrass greens tends to encourage nematode populations to increase.
• Larvae that emerge in the fall require roots to survive to adult stages in the spring. Nortica will continue to protect roots and help reduce fall emerging larval populations, thus reducing the potential increase in spring surviving adults.
• Even though root growth may only be for a short period in the fall, benefits can be expected in the spring as the roots begin to grow again.

Do not tank-mix with any other products like surfactant, pesticide, fertilizer.

Do not allow spray solution to stay in sprayer for more than 24 hours.

Irrigate immediately after application to move product in the top 1"-4" of the root zone.(At a minimum, irrigate with 0.1" to 0.2" of water to move
Nortica from the grass blades into the soil.)
