OVERVIEW: MSMA continues to undergo examination and/or changes in its current label structure. Recently, EPA has delayed implementation of the use deadline for Group II ( TURF uses below ) pending the outcome of the IRIS assessment and other testing. The MSMA Task Force (OAPTF) is fully engaged with EPA in seeking to extend the label uses for MSMA beyond the present. Below is a brief analysis of the overall situation.
The Organic Arsenical Products Task Force (Task Force) would like to clarify to its users and distributors that under the terms of the 2009 agreement with EPA the sale, distribution, and use of MSMA products labeled for golf course, sod farms, and highway rights of way will continue into and through 2013 and likely much longer.

MSMA Update for Turfgrass Applications
Residential and Athletic Field Turf
Effective January 1, 2010, MSMA will no longer be labeled for use on residential turf, drainage ditch banks, railroad, pipeline, and utility rights-of-way, fence rows, storage yards, and similar non-crop areas. Any previously purchased stocks of MSMA products may be applied until December 31, 2010.
