MSMA CONTINUES ……..
The Organic Arsenical Products Task Force (Task Force) would like to clarify to its users and distributors that under the terms of the 2009 agreement with EPA the sale, distribution, and use of MSMA products labeled for golf course, sod farms, and highway rights of way will continue into and through 2013 and likely much longer. The EPA has acknowledged that additional scientific review and data analysis are necessary before any final decision is made regarding the long-term status of MSMA. In the meantime, registered products may continue to be legally used as directed on their labels. The Task Force remains committed to working closely with the EPA to ensure all safety standards are met. Users and distributors are encouraged to stay informed and follow all regulatory updates regarding MSMA use.
MSMA CONTINUES: Furthermore, the Task Force is actively supporting research efforts to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of MSMA when applied properly under current use guidelines. Ongoing studies are designed to address any remaining concerns raised by regulatory authorities and to provide evidence-based data supporting the continued use of MSMA in select applications. The Task Force believes that MSMA remains a vital tool in integrated vegetation management programs, particularly for controlling invasive and herbicide-resistant weed species. Its targeted applications on golf courses, sod farms, and highway rights of way help maintain healthy turf and clear roadways without significant environmental impact. Stakeholders can expect continued updates as progress is made in the scientific review and regulatory process.
